Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death and upon those in the graves bestowing life!
An important thing to remember is to make it cool. Everyone likes it when websites are cool and not boreing. Our website is dedicated to the vision of Christ as High King of Heaven & Arch-Victor over the power of sin and death. Sorry, no Easter in 3D here, just flowers and holy water and wine! Aleluia! Christ the Light of the World: Priceless.
Your Servant,
Fr. Andrew Moore

The beginning of our Orthodox Mission in Springfield dates back to 1978. The parish went through periods of activity followed by long lapses until 1989 when regular monthly services began with supply priests from St Louis and Kansas City. The frequency of these services increased to twice a month by 1994 as the congregation grew.
The parish moved into a permanent home on December 22, 1999 and the first service celebrated was the Nativity Divine Liturgy. Fund-raising activities are now under way to help pay down the building loan and for interior beautification.
Fr. Andrew Moore was ordained to the Holy Priesthood by His Grace, Bishop Job during a Divine Liturgy on Sunday, January 28, 2001. Fr. Andrew has been assigned to our parish as our permanent priest.
It is not just a sheer chance that this small community has survived here in Springfield since 1978. The Almighty must have a plan for Orthodoxy in Springfield. As the Apostle Paul states in Romans 8:33, "If God be for us, who can be against us? With Him on our side, everything is possible."
We are a pan-Orthodox group with members from virtually every Orthodox background as well as a number of converts. Please join us if you are visiting our area. And if you are relocating to Southwest Missouri, we extend an invitation to join our family.
Saint Thomas Orthodox Church is a parish of the Diocese of Chicago and the Mid-West and the Orthodox Church in America under the protection of his Emenence Archbishop Job and his Beatitude Metropolitain Jonah.
We confess the undoubted Christian catholic faith that we share with all our Christian brothers and sisters in all times and places. This faith is Apostolic, Middle Eastern, Hebraic, Incarnational, Trinitarian, & Sacramental. It is also deeply healing. In order to know what we believe, please come and see! Or if you would like, refer to the Nicene Creed and the Apostolic Fathers, particularly "Adversus Haereses" by Irenaeus of Lyons & "On the Incarnation" by St Athanasius. If you have any questions feel free to ask us and we will be more than happy to discover with you the answers as we journey to answer the ultimate question that Jesus asks of each of us, "Whom do you say I am?"

"Welcome all wonders in one sight! Christ, the Son of God and Lord before the ages, who could over fill the whole cosmos is incarnate as a fetus in the womb of the Virgin..."
